The 11-year-old was battered to death with a cricket bat and stabbed by his father Greg Anderson on February 12.
Luke, who lived in Melbourne, Australia, had asked his mum for more time to practice playing cricket with his father.

Mr Anderson killed his son in front of other children and parents. Luke’s mum, Rosie Batty, spoke to BBC Radio Five Live this morning.
She said: "He knew from his own belief system he couldn't commit suicide... It was a totally selfish act so that he could go to the next world with Luke.

"We all know that you can't murder, how wrong it is. That is the insanity of this. How can someone who loves his son commit such an atrocious act?

"(But) he wasn't an evil man; he had morals and values. It's just something you can't make sense of. We all know if there is a heaven, he won't be there with Luke. (It was a) a totally selfish act. I don't even believe he did it to hurt me. He wanted to leave this world and take Luke with him."

Mrs Batty previously said she saw her husband's mental health deteriorate over 20 years. P
olice who arrived at the scene tried to talk the boy's dad down after he confronted them with a knife. After that failed, he was hit with a dose of pepper spray before being shot once in the chest.
Regional police commander Doug Fryer said: "We've had an absolute tragedy here tonight. It's an horrific scene...

"I don't know how a parent gets through losing a young boy in these sorts of circumstances."
Luke was described as "an individual" by his former cub leader, Wayne Carter.
Police suggested to Mrs Batty that Luke's death may have been a "calculated act" on the part of his father.
