A father has been jailed after threatening to bomb a One Direction concert when he failed to get tickets for his two daughters.
William H Klein was handed an eight-month prison sentence after the hoax bomb threat before a gig at the Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania last summer.
He phoned organisers Hershey Entertainment and Resorts the night before the gig, telling them: ‘If One Direction plays tomorrow, the stadium will blow up.’
Klein promised he would take his two daughters to the July 6 gig even though it had already sold out months before.
He made the bomb threat when one of his daughters threatened ‘never to speak to him again’ if she didn’t get a ticket.
His phone call was traced to a pay phone in New Jersey and Klein was identified from CCTV footage.
The stadium was placed on lockdown before the concert, followed by a bomb sweep and a check of concertgoers’ bags.
The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of interstate communication with threat to injure
