Girl's sex attacker caught red-handed (and bearded)

A PAEDOPHILE was nabbed after his victim described his red mohican and beard to police.

Sicko Gary Clifford, 24, was easily tracked down because his looks are so distinctive.

He attacked a 14-year-old after grooming her with a series of text messages.

Clifford arranged to meet her on farmland and sexually assaulted her. But the girl was able to give a detailed description of him to detectives.

She told officers he had a goatee beard and a mohican haircut, both dyed bright red, as well as red-framed glasses and a scary butterfly tattoo on his throat.

Police immediately knew who she was describing.

Evil Clifford was jailed for three-and-a-half years after a hearing at Durham Crown Court.

Recorder Ian Atherton told him: “You sought out and befriended your victim with the intention of having sex with her.

“You exchanged text messages with her and set up a meeting, indicating this was a premeditated offence.

“Another aggravating feature is your previous conviction for a sexual offence with a girl under 16.” Clifford, of Chester-le-Street, Co Durham, admitted sexual activity with a child in September last year and two charges of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

He was made the subject of another similar order banning him for life from unsupervised contact with children.
Clifford must also register as a sex offender for life.
