Pregnant criminology student Loretta Saunders was writing a thesis on missing and murdered women when she vanished two weeks ago. Police found her murdered body dumped on a highway yesterday.

BEAUTIFUL and smart, Loretta Saunders seemed to have the world at her feet when she vanished without a trace two weeks ago.
Three months pregnant to boyfriend Yalcin Surkulski, the criminology major was writing her honours thesis on missing and murdered indigenous women when she vanished.

Bizarrely, the fate of those she was researching appears to have befallen Ms Sauders herself; though blonde and blue-eyed in appearance, the 26-year-old was an Inuit, an aboriginal Canadian.
Yesterday, Ms Saunders’ body was found dumped on a wooded median strip on the Trans-Canadian Highway — more than 700km from her Halifax home.
.
A post mortem examination has not yet been conducted but police have confirmed they are investigating her death as a homicide.
The St. Mary’s University student was last seen on February 13 as she set off to collect $700 from a young couple living in her apartment, which she had rented out to pay bills after moving in with Mr Surkultay.
Her tenants, Blake Leggette and Victoria Henneberry, were arrested in Ontario six days after she disappeared after they allegedly stole her Toyota Celica.
They are now prime suspects in her murder but have yet to be charged with anything other than theft.
Canadian media reported today that Ms Saunders told friends she was prepared to evict the pair if they did not pay up.
