Kim Kallstrom’s back injury should come as no surprise to Arsenal, who were allegedly informed of the problem prior to his deadline day signing.

The Sweden international yesterday joined Arsenal on loan until the end of the season, but his participation for the rest of the campaign has already been cast into doubt after aggravating a back injury in his first training session today.

But it now appears he told Gunners officials of discomfort before putting pen to paper, with a CT scan highlighting a problem, according to BBC reports.

The 31-year-old is believed to have sustained the injury on Tuesday while playing football on a beach during Spartak Moscow’s pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi.
