Manchester City face the worst Barcelona team in ‘many, many years’, claims Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho believes Manchester City will face the worst Barcelona team for ‘many, many years’ when the pair lock horns at the Etihad Stadium tonight.


City’s last 16 Champions League tie with the Catalan giants is seen by most as an ideal opportunity for the Sky Blues to show they are now capable of competing with the very best Europe has to offer.
However, Mourinho has continued his recent attempts to put pressure onto his domestic rivals’ shoulders by insisting this current Barca team are no world-beaters.

‘Of course by history Barcelona is the favourite, but this Barcelona, this season, is showing that it is not the same in previous years,’ the Chelsea manager told ITV.

‘Of course, they have [Lionel] Messi – he is special – and they have more than him. But I think this is the worst Barcelona of many, many years.’
