Arsenal close in on summer transfer for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi

Arsenal have asked Belgian side Standard Liege to name their price for striker Michy Batshuayi as Arsene Wenger considers a summer bid.


The Gunners have been tracking Batshuayi for most of the season along with Premier League rivals Everton – and Wenger has been impressed with what he’s seen.

Now reports in Belgium say Arsenal have approached Liege to discuss how much they want for the exciting striker.

It’s thought that Arsenal value him at about £10million and they would be willing to put that offer on the table, if Liege are open to doing business.

The 20-year-old has scored 35 goals in 83 matches since making his professional debut and clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan have all been to watch him.

A fast, strong and agile striker, Batshuayi would offer Arsenal a genuine alternative to Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo.
