Arsenal fans have demanded the return of legendary striker Dennis Bergkamp after the club unveiled a statue in his honour at the Emirates Stadium.


The Dutchman, who scored 120 goals in 315 games for the Gunners during an 11 year spell, is now assistant manager at Ajax.

But as he gave an emotional speech in front of hundreds of fans as his statue was shown off, supporters made it clear that they want him back working for Arsenal.

‘Sign him up!’ chanted fans as Bergkamp paid tribute to the ‘beautiful club’ and hailed those who supported him during a difficult start to his Arsenal career.

Fans want Bergkamp to go back to Arsenal

Bergkamp was seen as a key target for Arsenal to manage their academy system, but in the end the job went to Wolfsburg assistant Andries Jonker.

However, with fan backing, it might not be long before we see the Iceman return to north London, with many suggestions that he could one day replace Arsene Wenger as manager.
