Arsenal ‘line up £35million summer transfer offer for Porto star Eliaquim Mangala’

Eliaquim Mangala has been added to Arsenal’s list of transfer targets

Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering making a £35million bid for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala at the end of the season.


The Arsenal manager, who watched his side get torn apart by Liverpool last weekend, is said to be keen on strengthening his backline in the summer to add extra steel.

And with Thomas Vermaelen likely to depart, suggestions in Portugal are that the Gunners will go all out to land Mangala.

The powerful centre back was subject of a bid from Manchester City in January, but it’s claimed that he is not interested in a switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Instead, the France international would prefer to move to north London – and Wenger could bid as much as £35million to try and get him out of Porto.
PSG and Monaco have previously been linked with Mangala, along with Chelsea.
