WHEN we first heard that Niall Horan was reading three books a week, we assumed it would be comics.
STRESSED: Niall is trying self-help books
Just last December the Irish star had a panic attack after getting stuck in a lift with eight people in an Italian hotel. So now he’s stocked up on self-help books to avoid similar incidents in the future.
A source close to the star told us: “Niall really wants to conquer this problem once and for all. He’s essentially practising amateur psychology at the moment and is getting through three books a week.
“The self-help books are teaching him how to manage crowds with various coping techniques.
“He has stacks of them by his bed and they’re really making a difference to his state of mind.”
The bookworm has struggled with claustrophobia since he was a boy, but things got worse after he found fame with One Direction.
Niall has said in the past: “I do get a bit scared sometimes. When we’re in the tour bus fans start climbing over it and smacking on the windows, trying to get in...”
Not surprised he’s frightened. Sounds like a scene from a zombie flick.
But actually the One Direction singer, 20, is
getting through shed loads of psychology literature to help cure his
claustrophobia and panic attacks.
Determined Niall, who is recuperating from a recent leg operation, wants to use his down-time productively to overcome the fear.
