Liverpool turned away by Swansea ‘in attempt to sign Chico Flores’

Chico is said to have been targeted by Liverpool

Liverpool have reportedly been told there is no chance of them signing Chico Flores from Swansea, with just hours until the transfer window shuts.


The Reds are thought to be in the market for a new defender, having earlier made enquiries about Manchester City’s Micah Richards.

After being turned away by the Citizens, the Daily Mail are reporting boss Brendan Rodgers turned to his former club in a bid to bolster his squad on transfer deadline day, but the Swans were firm over the non-availability of Chico.

The 26-year-old, who has been at the Liberty Stadium for 18 months, was involved in an incident with Garry Monk at the club’s training ground earlier this month, but remains an important part of Michael Laudrup’s plans.

It now looks doubtful Rodgers will add to his squad before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
