Why signing Yevhen Konoplyanka would represent sweet revenge for Liverpool

Dnipro’s Yevhen Konoplyanka could be on the way to Liverpool

The clock is ticking down but it seems Liverpool are on the verge of signing Ukrainian international Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro.

Now I don’t want to tempt fate as I know a lot can still go wrong but I think it would be wonderful if we could secure the signing tonight, not least because it seems the player has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for some time.

Spurs had managed to keep their interest over Konoplyanka quiet until Liverpool moved in, but now it looks like the north London club have lost their man.
It would be very satisfying for Reds fan if they can finalise the deal after so many of their own targets have been stolen from under their noses by other teams in the last few windows.
