Bungling burglar caught napping when victim finds him curled up in her bed ASLEEP

A REAL life Goldilocks bungled a burglary when he fell asleep in his victim's house.
burglary, burglar, caught, asleep. napping, bed,SLEEPY: The burglar curled up in an upstairs bed for a snooze

Frankie Flannigan, 22, was found fast asleep by a shocked homeowner when she returned to find her house had been ransacked.

The crook had smashed a window to loot a television, laptop and Xbox before leaving them beside an outside bin.

He then went back inside and climbed into an upstairs bed, where he promptly fell asleep.
Leeds Crown Court heard that the burgled house was next door to Flannigan's mother's home in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

When the owner arrived home at around 5.45pm she discovered broken glass and property missing.
The slumbering Flannigan was woken and arrested on the spot.
The court heard he had a number of previous conviction for minor dishonesty offences but had never committed burglary before.

Asumpta O'Rourke, mitigating, said that the crook had not deliberately targeted the property but broke in after he saw no one was at home.
Flannigan was jailed for 18 months.

Judge Rodney Jameson QC said: "Sentences for domestic burglaries need to be at the higher end of the guidelines."
