A WOMAN got the shock of a lifetime when she was almost sold for £700 after her boyfriend had put her on eBay.
With Valentine's Day fast approaching, Shaun Coles decided to
play the very unloving joke on his long-term girlfriend Debbie Moran.
Coles, from Kettering, Northamptonshire, placed Moran up for sale on the auction website and to his surprise received more than 56 bids from strangers.
Describing her as an "Old Woman", Coles said she was slack with housework and put up an unflattering picture of his girlfriend of six years.
Moran told ITV that she "hated" the photo and "was annoyed at first".
Yet she admitted: "I know he does love me really."
But Coles made sure Moran would be long gone after the bid with a "No Returns" option.
He even wanted the buyer to "Collect in Person".
The joke auction was removed by Moran after he realised it broke the website's rules.
The highest offer when he removed it was at £721.
Coles said he thought people they may have been interested from abroad.
He said there was "definitely some international" interest.
But Coles was quick to make it up to his angered girlfriend of six years when he told ITV: "In all seriousness, I wouldn’t sell her for anything."
To which Moran joked: “Awww. He’s trying to redeem himself."
