ARSENAL have made a ‘take it or leave it’ bid of £24.7m for Schalke wonderkid Julian Draxler.
And the Gunners are expected to have few problems agreeing personal terms.
Starsport can reveal the Gunners were offered Draxler on the final day of the summer transfer window.
But they made it clear they weren’t interested in a deal at the full £37m figure.
With Chelsea dropping out of the running, Wenger could now get his man for a much lower price.
The 20-year-old has a buy-out clause of £37m with the German side.
But
the Gunners have proposed a deal with various add-ons in a bid to land
the German international by Friday when the transfer window closes.
The
two clubs have been in talks since the summer over Draxler, who Gunners
boss Arsene Wenger sees as a striker in the Thierry Henry mould rather
than the attacking midfield role he currently fills.
With
Chelsea’s interest waning following their purchase of Mohamed Salah
from Basel, it is understood Draxler has let the Gunners know he wants
to join them before the 11pm deadline.
