Will this disastrous transfer window cost Liverpool a Champions League spot?

Will this disastrous transfer window cost Liverpool a Champions League spot?Brendan Rodgers has been frustrated by the club’s lack of business this month

Brendan Rodgers cut a frustrated figure in his press conference ahead of tonight’s Merseyside derby when he was asked about Liverpool’s transfer window.

The Reds boss spoke about the transfer window and the reasons the club had been unable to add to their squad this month.

Rodgers had high hopes of signing FC Basel’s Mohamed Salah but the Egyptian international chose to move to Chelsea instead.
It is the second time this season that Chelsea have signed one of his transfer targets, after snaring Willian back in August after it had looked as though he would be on his way to Anfield.

Of course, there is still time for the club to bring in some new players, but I didn’t feel his body language oozed too much in the way of confidence.
‘We’ll probably judge that (whether this month has been a frustration) best when the window has shut.
‘We will see where we are at when the window shuts. Of course I wanted to strengthen the team that was already here.

‘If we are unable to do that it would be disappointing, but there’s nothing you can do about it. If we don’t get them in, as a coach, I’ll work with what I’ve got. There’s no point looking back on it.’

As I listened to Brendan Rodgers being interviewed I got the distinct impression that he was bitterly disappointed with this transfer window.
His voice was breaking at times during the press conference and his demeanour was pretty negativ
