American Hustle and Gravity lead Oscars nominations
                Chiwetel Ejiofor is favourite to win best actor for his performance in 12 Years A Slave 

American Hustle, Gravity and 12 Years a Slave have dominated this year’s Oscar nominations.
Gravity, a 3D film about astronauts stranded in space, and American Hustle, which revolved around con man Irving Rosenfeld, both scored the most nominations with 10 each.

Steve McQueen’s powerful drama about a free man kidnapped and sold into slavery earned nine nods and is favourite to win the best picture gong.

It will battle it out with American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Nebraska, Philomena and The Wolf Of Wall Street.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs read out today’s nominations.
