McGeady joined the Russian club from Celtic in 2010 in a big-money move but after two years of experiencing cold away games in Siberia, the winger was ready for a move back to Britain.
He said: "It was a difficult league. Every away game was a flight. I've actually been to Siberia - five and a half hours on a flight for an away game."
McGeady said he enjoyed his time in Russia but admitted he found life in difficult there.
He added: "The first couple of years were great but after that the novelty wore off a little bit and it was a difficult place to live with a family, it's not the easiest place to bring up children.

The Everton winger had been had linked with a move to Wigan last season when current Everton manager Roberto Martinez was still in charge = but a deal never happened.
But this season the Spaniard got his man.
McGeady could make his Everton debut on Monday when the Toffees travel to Hawthorns to play struggling West Brom.
