CBB BABE: Sam Faiers lost 2st taking Forza supplements before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house
It seems sex takes a back seat to slimming for most women, with
new research suggesting that women will take more diets than lovers on
average in their lifetime.
They diet an average of 16 times - losing a combined total of around 5st each - while the typical woman has eight lovers in her life, according a recent study of 15,000 adults, published in the Lancet.
And more than half surveyed in a new poll said they had been more on more diets than they'd had lovers.
The findings were revealed in a new survey of 1,000 women by the diet firm Forza Supplements. Celebrity Big Brother babe Sam Faiers recently revealed she lost 2st taking Forza's Raspberry K2 supplements, after splitting from fellow TOWIE star Joey Essex.
Forza's research found that women typically first start dieting at 17 - when they stop growing and putting on weight becomes more of a problem.
The average diet lasts for a month - and women most commonly lose between 5lb and 7lb.
More than a quarter of women (27%) find it impossible to stick with diets and give up after a week.
The main reason for quitting is a lack of willpower (chosen by 35% of respondents), followed by boredom (19%) and a lapse after a night out with friends (17%)

Most women (85%) carry on calorie counting even after reaching their target weight.
By far the most popular reason for dieting is unhappiness with body shape, chosen by half of those polled.
The second most popular reason was a desire to feel sexier (27%), followed by getting in shape for a summer holiday (19%).
Just 1% said they dieted to please their partner.
Women firmly believe that diets are an effective way of losing weight - with 71% saying they DO work.
And half of respondents said they had made permanent lifestyle changes - eliminating unhealthy food and drinks - after going on a diet.
Almost all women (92%) lose some weight on a diet - even if it is only between 1lb and 3lb for a quarter of those polled.
The vast majority of women (79%) said they dieted more as they got older.
