DR Congo captain Robert Kidiaba has declared that The Leopards do not fear Chan quarterfinal opponents Ghana.
Sunday's meeting at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein will be a repeat of the 2009 inaugural tournament's final hosted by Ivory Coast that DR Congo won 2-0.
“Ghana are not grand warriors. We are preparing this match with seriousness and we respect our opponent," DR Congo's iconic goalkeeper said.
"It will be tough for us as for them but with God’s hand, we will do everything to progress."
The two sides’ record at the Chan finals is currently at a win each after Ghana beat DR Congo 3-0 in a preliminary Group B match in 2009 before the latter meted out revenge in the final in Abidjan three games later.
Meanwhile, DR Congo, who have found renewed hope in their 2014 Chan race after beating Burundi 2-1 in their Group D decider to escape a potential first-ever preliminary stage exit from the tournament.
Winner of the DR Congo and Ghana clash will face either Nigeria or Morocco in the semifinals next Wednesday at the same venue in Bloemfontein.
